What if Lydia and Beetlejuice Really Tied the Knot Today?

Unfortunately for Lydia Deetz, true love never dies. Thanks to her teenage daughter, Astrid, everyone’s favorite demon, Beetlejuice, is coming back again for one more shot at love. He’s been pining away, trapped in the underworld for years but maybe this time, we’ll get to see that [un]happy day when the two finally lovebirds tie the knot. Ok, we wouldn’t really wish that on Lydia (or anyone else for that matter), but like in the first movie, we’re always secretly hoping for a wedding scene. So let’s do a fun thought experiment, here’s what we think that unholy matrimony would look like today…

The Unhappy Bride

If it’s anything like the last attempt, he who shall not be named will likely be the one picking the dress and he seems to have a thing for red and ruffles (lots of them). And while she usually wears black, Lydia does look pretty great in red and we think she could rock this Tiered Pleated Tulle Quinceañera Dress from MoriLee. A veil is a must and we always recommend matching the veil to the gown. Can’t you just picture this red ruffled veil with that gown…it’s a lewk for sure! And every bride needs a statement shoe for the big day and we think these twisted mules by JW Pei add just the right touch. We also think she needs a matching cascade bouquet in deep red for a little extra drama (in the underworld, there’s no such thing as too much). When you have eternity to celebrate, why settle for just one dress? We think that Lydia needs a reception dress and love the idea of her in something like this Ruched Mermaid Prom Dress with Three Dimensional Florals from MoriLee.

The MOB

More so than Lydia, Delia Deetz is famed for her fashion choices, so if she has any say in what she wears to the wedding, it’s going to be epic. We picture the queen of asymmetry in a sculpted one-shouldered gown like this Scuba Jersey Evening Gown with Flounced Detailing by MoriLee. She would also look pretty epic in this Crepe Evening Gown with Crystal Beading and Fly-Away Sleeves from MGNY. And Delia doesn’t shy away from accessories, in fact, we think she’d probably be rocking some red leather gloves like she is in the trailer for the new movie.

The Maid of Honor

From the looks of it, Astrid Deetz hasn’t inherited her mom’s particular sense of “style”, but it’s not her wedding…now is it? JK but for real, we think she would also be rocking black for the big day, but something with little volume like this black gown from Casablanca…and yes, that is a wedding gown!

The Groom

Now we know you’re probably expecting the man of the hour to wear his famous black and white striped suit, but even the big man himself likes a glow-up for his wedding day. We think he’d wear a sharp burgundy tuxedo like this one paired with a pink (yes pink!) vest and tie. And then, white patent leather dress shoes because if you can pull it off–do.

Schedule your bridal appointment here today and don’t be afraid to tell us all of your deepest, darkest, wedding dreams…we know just how to make them come true.
